Revolution digitally prints award winning packaging live using Mirri

Revolution digitally prints award
winning packaging live using Mirri

Roland DG distributor, Revolution printed award-winning samples of Mirri packaging at the Packaging Innovations Show 2011, held at the Birmingham NEC in February. The designs were created by Pillbox Design, an independent packaging design and consultancy service.

The award winning packaging was printed on a Roland LEC-330, a digital machine that is capable of printing 4 colour + white, and can print spot UV and high build embossed effects including braille, plus it can cut and crease. The Roland LEC-330 is ideal for producing packaging mock-ups and short run jobs with specialist finishing or materials such as Mirri.

The packaging created by Pillbox Design won an ESKO award last year for it’s innovative design. The mock up was printed black, allowing areas for show through imitating a silver foil on the base, a spot UV pattern was also applied and the design is completed with a silver box on the top.

Revolution were one of four Roland distributors on the Roland stand Jan Edgecombe Managing Director at Revolution commented “ There was a lot of interest in the Mirri samples we produced at the show, especially from designers. It is fantastic that the Roland LEC-330 and LEC-540 can be used to digitally produce creative mock ups as part of the packaging design process”.
